Tenants FAQs

What are your office hours?
The office opening hours are between 9am-5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. 10am – 5pm Wednesday and 9am-12pm on Saturdays. Saturday viewings are carried out from 12.30pm. See our Contact Page
Do you take people on benefits?
RPMS do not generally accept DSS clients as the vast majority of our landlords stipulate that the tenant must be employed full time.
Do you take pets or smokers?
Properties that do not accept pets or smokers will state this in the marketing information found on Rightmove, Findaproperty.com, Primelocation, RPMS.co.uk, on our property list or in the office display window.
How do I apply for a property?

Do I need insurance?
Tenants are required to have insurance cover for L/L accidental fixtures and fittings
How can I make payments?
We accept debit or credit card payments in person or over the phone although credit card payments are charged with an additional 3% surcharge. Just call 01482 873322 and select option 3.
How much is the deposit?
RPMS deposits are calculated at one and a quarter times the monthly rent.
Do I have to pay council tax?
Yes unfortunately as a tenant you are wholly liable for the council tax on the property for the duration of your tenancy.
Do I have to pay all the bills?
Yes unfortunately as a tenant you are wholly liable for the gas, electricity and water rates relating to the property for the duration of your tenancy. RPMS will provide you with up to date meter readings where possible.
How do I report a maintenance problem?

How do I hand in my notice?
You notice must be in writing or by email. If you send by email, you must follow this up with a call. Any notice sent by email that we don't receive will not be valid. Your notice must be given before the end of business on the date before your commencement date. Any further questions please contact the office by visitng the Contact Page
When will my notice take effect?
Your one months written notice will take effect in line with the date that you moved into the property (known as commencement date). For example if you moved in on the 3rd. We would require the notice to be given to us before end of business on the 2nd of the month allowing you to leave on the 2nd of the next month.
